39 Animals Seized from Domestic in Bunkie

BUNKIE, La. (AP) - Thirty-nine animals are in a protect after being rescued from what's described as a hording circumstance in Avoyelles Parish. In Bunkie, 27 canine and 12 cats were seized Monday from the home of Maxine and Gordon Doughty. KATC-television (http://bit.ly/2bh2164 ) reports the couple became arrested and each faces one count of animal cruelty.

Toney Wade with the Louisiana Animal task drive helped with the seizure. He observed the smell became so bad that it virtually made him ill. He says there were canines in assorted cages in front, again and internal the apartment. Wade says the animals had been skinny, residing in their own feces, lined in fleas, had in no way been bathed and pretty much all the canines had heart worms.
